The Global COE Program "Research Unit for Statistical and Empirical Analysis in Social Sciences (G-COE Hi-Stat)" invites applications for joint studies on the topics below as part of the Asian Historical Economic Statistics project. One or two applications will be selected for each research topic.
Construction and analysis of historical economic statistics for Vietnam
Construction and analysis of historical economic statistics for South Korea
Construction and analysis of historical economic statistics for Indonesia
Applicants should send their curriculum vitae including a list of scholarly publications and a brief research proposal (approximately 200 words) via e-mail to GCOE-info1@ier.hit-u.ac.jp
Please write "Global COE Joint Studies" in the subject line.
Deadline: October 27, 2008 (extended from the previous deadline of October 20, 2008)
You should be affiliated with a Japanese and/or overseas university or research institution.
You should have a sound knowledge of and the ability to analyze the economic development and historical economic statistics of the country in question.
The G-COE Hi-Stat will offer the following benefits to the successful applicants:
Financial and practical support for the purchase of research materials, data entry/compilation, and field survey.
Access to the data archive maintained by the Institute of Economic Research, Hitotsubashi University.
Opportunities to participate in workshops and seminars.
